Zoo Company fined £100,000 over injuries to a mother and her three year old son who were crushed by a tree.
A mother and her three year old son were seriously injured when they visited Manor House Wildlife Park in west Wales. They were stroking the animals in a Wallaby enclosure when strong winds caused a 25 metre beech tree to fall on them. Fortunately the two have subsequently recovered from their injuries.
The company admitted two breaches of the Health and Safety at Work Act as they had not got an effective tree maintenance and safety system in place.
